- AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)
- Optimizing for AI answers; narrower than GEO since AI does more than answer.
- AI Visibility
- How often, how prominently and how accurately a brand is mentioned and cited in AI answers.
- AI Visibility Index
- VISIBILIS metric combining mention, citation, placement and competition into one visibility score.
- Citation
- The source reference or link an AI answer is based on.
- Dark Search
- Purchase decisions made invisibly in AI chat, untracked by classic analytics.
- GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
- Marketing discipline to increase a brand visibility in AI systems; the answer-engine counterpart to SEO.
- Grounding / RAG
- Method by which an LLM retrieves external, current sources live and builds them into the answer (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).
- LLM (Large Language Model)
- Language model (e.g. GPT, Gemini, Claude) forming the technical core of AI systems.
- Mention
- A brand named in an AI answer (even without a link).
- A brand share of all brand mentions on a topic in AI answers.
